Leadership
Wellington Environmental was started by Thom Wellington in 1988 with the goal of providing fast, efficient, and reasonably priced services for commercial, institutional, and residential clients throughout the Midwest.
Thom is a specialist in Asbestos, Mold, Infection Prevention, and Legionella.
Thom’s experience and roles in environmental services stretches across a wide variety of industries. He worked as a special consultant on asbestos arbitration cases nationwide for the US Army JAG department at the Pentagon. In healthcare, he developed water management programs for hospitals & nursing homes throughout the country.
As an infection prevention specialist and researcher, Thom was the writer and producer of ICRA Training for the Cleveland Clinic facilities and many other healthcare systems in the US. He also is a writer with published articles on subjects including mold, asbestos, and infection prevention. Thom has also presented at many national conventions and applauded for his unique approach as both motivational and educational.
Prior to starting Wellington Environmental, he was an adjunct professor at multiple universities.
Besides founding Wellington Environmental, he co-founded Infection Control University (ICU), and founded Infection Prevention Learning Institute (IPLI) after selling his interest in ICU.
